#A29 National Lemon Juice Day

August 29th was National Lemon Juice Day and 8 year old Lacianne Carriere wowed the Los Angeles City Council speaking before them for the very first time, offering them Free Fresh Lemonade for Justice and AlexsLemonadeStand.org.  The little girl is no stranger to applause, as the younger sister of actor RJ Mitte (star of the hit show Breaking Bad), she made her own first appearance on camera at the age of 1 1/2, but this was her first visit to City Hall since she sang a Peace song at the Occupy LA encampment before the November 30th raid, and her very first time speaking to ANY City Council, let alone one of the Nation's most watched City meetings.  She brought smiles to everyone's faces, when she burst into song, with "When Life Gives You Lemons... You Gotta Make Some Fresh Juice!" http://youtu.be/0SKOVKcGMzI

Here is vid of City Council Member Paul Koretz juggling Lemons for Justice with RJ MItte while Lacianne sings: http://youtu.be/nAytwrpzCjs
and Chief Beck wishing everyone a Happy National Lemon Juice Day while Lacianne sings:  http://youtu.be/hTIXQPvzpiE

Co-Creator of the "When Life Gives You Lemons Make Fresh Juice" civic engagement campaign http://youtu.be/XmTXUuloloA, Melissa Balin, explains the innocent publicity stunt, "at a time when American farmers need our support, where appropriate labeling of genetically modified produce is a genuine issue, and organic farm-to-table practices should be encouraged, Lacianne Carriere and her mom and I agreed that having Lacianne wish City Council a Happy National Lemon Juice Day would be a fun lighthearted way to raise awareness to these constituent concerns with a smile and a reminder that we must prioritize a sustainable future for the youth throughout our governmental process."

"WhenLifeGivesYouLemons...Make Fresh Juice" is a social action campaign to remind people of ways to turn pain into art and find creative non-violent ways to express themselves and their grievances as protected by Free Speech.  Lacianne joined other celebrity activists including her brother RJ Mitte http://instagr.am/p/OxlKhBlf-_/, artist Shepard Fairey http://instagr.am/p/Oxz7rrFf87/, and actress Q'orianka Kilcher ( http://instagr.am/p/KGck75Ff7z/), in selecting their own "LEMON" to send #LemonInstagrams2Congress as a fun way to encourage civic engagement and transparent participatory Democracy http://stayoccupied.blogspot.com/2012/08/whenlifegivesyoulemons-send-them-to.html.

Lacianne chose #Justice4TaraCalico ((http://instagr.am/p/OxjieDFf9R/), a social justice campaign that has been seeking the Truth in the New Mexico disappearance of Tara Calico (http://www.TaraCalico.com) for over twenty years, under the attention of Oprah Winfrey, and countless National media outlets and currently the subject of a new documentary being Executive Produced by Lacianne's brother, RJ Mitte.  New science is available to solve the case and celebrities and activists are demanding Justice for the small town that could be Anywhere USA.

Lacianne's photo will travel in an exhibit to Washington DC to be shown to members of Congress for National Fresh Juice Week in January 2013, but the effect of engaging in a healthy positive experience with municipal government at a young age without the threat of rubber bullets or tear gas canisters, or even more terrifyingly real gunfire, as at Congresswoman Gabrielle Gifford's attack, all tensions that the whole Nation is still recovering from, is a priceless gift that will have impact over many people's lifetimes.

Thank you for your time and consideration of this matter of metaphorical importance to us all- at a time when legislation regarding GMO labeling should be on everyone's minds, how come NOBODY covered NATIONAL LEMON JUICE DAY?  What's it take to make "National" "News" these days lol?
